Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, D-Fla., co-chairs of the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus, sent a letter to Mr. Trump last week imploring him to maintain funding for programs while also renewing commitment to their cause by announcing a national HIV/AIDS policy director.
Mr. Trump’s proposed budget includes $186 million in cuts to the CDC’s HIV/AIDS prevention programs.
