Katy Welkie, BSN. CEO of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital (Salt Lake City). Ms. Welkie spent time as Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital COO, CNO and nursing director of the pediatric ICU before being named CEO in 2012. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved Best Hospital rankings in all 10 specialty categories from U.S News & World Report in its 2017-18 rankings. She champions continuous improvement and leads the hospital’s Zero Harm patient safety initiative to reduce and eliminate preventable errors; the program has expanded to the 22 other hospitals in Intermountain’s system. In addition to her role with Intermountain, Ms. Welkie is a board member of the Children’s Hospital Association and Children’s Hospital Solutions for Patient Safety National Children’s Network.
