Illinois Health and Hospital Association names board members: 5 things to know

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association, an integrated, statewide organization formed through a recently completed merger between the Illinois Hospital Association and the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council, has a new brand and board.

Here are five things to know about the newly formed organization.

1. IHA represents more than 200 hospitals and nearly 50 health systems. 

2. Officials said the organization’s vision for Illinois healthcare is “to support each person’s quest for optimum health, all individuals and communities have access to high-quality healthcare at the right time and in the right setting.”

3. IHA has a new website URL (www.team-iha.org).

4. IHA’s 2016 board officers are:

  • Chairman: Michael Eesley, CEO of Centegra Health System in Crystal Lake
  • Chairman-elect: Edgar Curtis, president and CEO of Memorial Health System in Springfield
  • Immediate past chairman: Dean Harrison, president and CEO, of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare in Chicago
  • Treasurer:  William Santulli, executive vice president and COO of Advocate Health Care in Downers Grove
  • President: A.J. Wilhelmi, president and CEO of Illinois Health and Hospital Association
  • Secretary: Mark Deaton, general counsel for Illinois Health and Hospital Association (officer only).

5. Trustees elected to serve on the 2016 IHA board are:

  • Rex Conger,  president and CEO of Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton
  • David Crane, executive vice president and COO of AMITA Health in Arlington Heights
  • Pam Davis, system CEO of Edward-Elmhurst Health in Naperville
  • Michael Englehart, president and CEO of Presence Health in Chicago
  • Larry Goldberg, president and CEO of Loyola University Health System in Maywood
  • Maureen Kahn, president and CEO of Blessing Health System in Quincy
  • Phillip Kambic, president and CEO of Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee
  • Barbara Martin, president and CEO of Vista Health System in Waukegan
  • Nancy Newby, PhD, president and CEO of Washington County Hospital in Nashville
