Fairbanks Memorial’s split with Banner Health ended a 15-year affiliation with the Phoenix-based health system. Effective Jan. 1, Fairbanks-based Foundation Health Partners, a subsidiary of the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation, began operating the hospital.

“I feel good about where we’re headed,” Greg Johnson, MD, CEO of Foundation Health Partners, said. “We are truly transforming in 2017.”

Dr. Johnson said the transition to Foundation Health Partners created 30 jobs, according to the report.
