National Nurses United opposes Trump’s SCOTUS nominee

National Nurses United issued a statement Tuesday, opposing President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the empty Supreme Court seat, based on his prior employment and labor rulings.

“Gorsuch should…be opposed because of a far-right record that is consistently hostile to the rights and protections of working people, said Deborah Burger, RN, co-president of the NNU. “Last year in blocking President Obama’s nomination, Republicans said the court could function just fine with only eight members. Let’s hold them to that now.”

According to NNU, Judge Gorsuch sided with employers in eight of 12 labor and employment rulings during his time with the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Colorado.
