The system closed Woodlands Emergency Center in The Woodlands, Texas, and Conroe (Texas) Emergency Center. A CHI spokeswoman told Becker’s the system closed the facilities to eliminate duplicative services.
“As we continue to grow Catholic Health Initiative’s (CHI) presence in Texas, we recently completed the acquisition of the Greater Houston Physicians Medical Association, including Apollo and Enzo medical facilities,” the spokeswoman said. “Certain facilities included in that acquisition were determined to be providing duplicative services in The Woodlands and Conroe areas. In an effort to ensure appropriate use of resources, the decision was made to cease operations at the Woodlands Emergency Center and the Conroe Emergency Center effective Friday, February 10, 2017.”
CHI has offered employees affected by the closures job placement services within and outside the CHI Texas Division.
