CEO to know: Cathryn Hibbs of Carlsbad Medical Center

Cathryn Hibbs is CEO of Carlsbad (N.M.) Medical Center, a role she began Feb. 9.

Ms. Hibbs comes to Carlsbad Medical Center after serving for seven years as CEO of Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. In this role, she launched a collaborative with the local Veterans Affairs hospital and established a transfer center in Oklahoma, according to the Carlsbad Current-Argus.

Prior to her term with Deaconess Hospital, Ms. Hibbs worked with Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. In her last position with CHS, she served as division vice president and oversaw 11 hospitals in Oklahoma and New Mexico. Ms. Hibbs also served as CEO of several CHS and Hospital Corporation of America facilities.

She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration.
