The organization was created that year through the merger of Louisville-based Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare and Lexington, Ky.-based Saint Joseph Health System. Despite the Kentucky attorney general’s objection to include University of Louisville as an affiliate of KentuckyOne during its formation, Ms. Brinkley devised a joint operation agreement between U of L and KentuckyOne that resulted in the creation of a state-wide health system.
Prior to her work with KentuckyOne, Ms. Brinkley was president and CEO of Tucson, Ariz.-based Carondelet Health Network for four years and president and CEO of Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Memorial Health Care System for five years. She also previously served as senior vice president for performance management with Catholic Health Initiatives, and currently serves as senior vice president of operations for the Denver-based system in addition to her role at KentuckyOne.
