Florence, Ala.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners is considering its next move after its application for a certificate of need for a new cancer center was rejected in mid-July, according to a report from the Times Daily.

RegionalCare had planned for the proposed $19 million facility to stand adjacent to its new hospital in Florence.

This rejection comes after the approval of RegionalCare’s new hospital in Florence, though Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Ala., has filed an intent to appeal notice for that project.

RegionalCare may choose to reapply for the certificate of need, though it may also wait to address the proposed cancer center’s situation until the new hospital’s future is secured.
