Wyoming system COO to step down

Jerry Klein, COO of Gillette, Wyo.-based Campbell County Health, is stepping down from his post.

Mr. Klein's last day with the organization will be Dec. 29, a system spokesperson confirmed to Becker's. He announced his resignation the week of Nov. 27.

"It has been a privilege to be part of the Campbell County Health family during such an important time in the organization's history," Mr. Klein said in a news release shared with Becker's. "The dedication of the staff and their commitment to our patients and this community have left their mark on me."

Mr. Klein has served as COO of Campbell County Health since 2020. He also stepped in as interim CEO after Colleen Heeter, BSN, was terminated in October 2021. Campbell County Health named Matthew Shahan CEO in 2022, and Mr. Klein continued serving in the COO role.

Mr. Shahan said in a news release, "Jerry is a valued member of our executive team, and I appreciate all that he has accomplished during his tenure with CCH. We wish him nothing but the best in whatever and wherever he decides his next step will be."

Before joining Campbell County Health, Mr. Klein served as president and CEO of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Campbell County Health is an affiliate of Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth.
