White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital selected Rick McCarthy to serve as CIO.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. McCarthy previously served as CIO at Ascension Information Services for St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn.

2. He also has experience serving as CIO of the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va.

3. He has served in numerous IT leadership positions with the U.S. Military and Department of Defense.

4. Mr. McCarthy is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and Connecticut Hospital Association CIO Council.
