Michael Seim, MD, has retired after a 32-year career in healthcare. He most recently served as senior vice president and chief quality officer of York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health.
Dr. Seim joined WellSpan in April 2020 from Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn., where he served as chief medical officer from 2017 to 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile.
At WellSpan, Dr. Seim oversaw quality management and clinical improvement, lean management systems, infection prevention and control, patient safety, performance improvement, clinical risk management and regulatory compliance. He spoke with Becker’s in 2025 about WellSpan’s pursuit of health equity accreditation, which helped improve breast cancer screening rates 6.31% and colon cancer screening rates 8.73% over one year.
A successor has not been announced. WellSpan is also conducting a national search for a new president and CEO following Roxanna Gapstur’s April retirement announcement.
