Virginia system taps chief nurse

Roanoke, Va.-based Cailion Clinic has named Michelle Franklin, RN, chief nursing officer.

Ms. Franklin has worked with the health system for more than 30 years. Since joining as a nursing assistant in 1990, she has worked in a variety of clinical and operational leadership roles. Most recently, she served as vice president of women’s services, children’s services, nursing support and interpreter services, according to a July 15 news release. 

Carilion Clinic includes seven hospitals in Virginia. It also operates a network of outpatient clinics and a multi-specialty physician group.
