Virginia hospital taps chief nursing officer as CEO

Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville, Va., has named Theresa Dix, MSN, RN, as CEO, effective Sept. 15.

Ms. Dix brings more than 40 years of healthcare experience, serving as chief nursing officer since 2022, according to an Aug. 27 hospital news release. She began her career at the hospital in 1983 as a charge nurse in the ICU/CCU and later served in leadership roles including director of surgical services and interim medical-surgical director.

She was named chief nursing officer in 2011 and held the role until 2019. She held the same role at another Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health hospital until returning to Wythe County Community Hospital in 2022.
