VCU medical center taps quality, safety chief

VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Va., named Georgia McIntosh, MD, as chief quality and safety officer on Sept. 4. 

Dr. McIntosh previously served as interim chief quality and safety officer for a year and a half. Before that, she was associate chief quality and safety officer from July 2022 to January 2024, according to a VCU Health news release. 

In her new role, Dr. McIntosh will be responsible for overseeing quality, safety, quality reporting compliance, infection prevention and performance improvement initiatives, the release said.
