Van Wert County Hospital names new CEO: 3 things to know

Van Wert (Ohio) County Hospital has named James "Jim" Pope president and CEO, effective July 1, according to a Van Wert Independent report.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Pope.

1. He has more than three decades of healthcare executive experience, with strengths in health operations, strategic leadership and planning and rural healthcare markets.

2. Most recently, he has served five years as president and CEO of Toledo, Ohio-based Sylvania Franciscan Health, now CHI Sylvania Franciscan Health.

3. Mr. Pope earned a master's degree in hospital and health administration from Cincinnati-based Xavier University and a bachelor's degree in management/healthcare from Park University in Parkville, Mo.
