“We appreciate Fred’s service and leadership for the past two years and wish him the best in future endeavors,” a statement from the hospital reads.

Mr. Capozello was named interim CEO in August 2014 after serving as the hospital’s CFO for about seven months, according to the Mohave Valley Daily News. He became the permanent CEO later that year.

Prior to joining Valley View, he was vice president of finance operations at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. Mr. Capozello also previously served as COO and CFO of Tulare (Calif.) Regional Medical Center.

Valley View said it has identified a strong candidate to replace Mr. Capozello.
