University Hospitals names UH Ventures president

Cleveland-based University Hospitals appointed Kipum Lee, PhD, as president of UH Ventures, effective Oct. 1.

Dr. Lee most recently served as vice president of enterprise strategy and innovation, according to an Oct. 1 health system news release. He joined University Hospitals a decade ago as part of its inaugural innovation platform and has led human-centered design initiatives and digital health programs across the system.

He succeeds David Sylvan, who will continue to serve as the health system’s chief strategy, innovation and marketing officer.

As president of UH Ventures, Dr. Lee will focus on revenue growth, early-stage capital deployment, and advancing the system’s innovation strategy.

University Hospitals includes more than 20 hospitals and more than 30,000 employees.
