Ashley Dowler has been appointed COO of Doctors Hospital of Laredo in Texas.
Ms. Dowler will oversee multiple departments in her new role, including lab, imaging, rehabilitation, ambulatory and surgical services, catheterization lab, and plant operations, according to a Sept. 23 Facebook post from the hospital. She is the first woman to hold the role at Doctors Hospital.
She brings a 16-year healthcare career to the role, with experience in operations management, financial planning, physician relations, employee engagement, contract negotiation, quality assurance, patient services, leadership and training. Most recently, she served as associate administrator at Doctors Hospital, where she led service line development, community engagement, and operational improvements.
Doctors Hospital of Laredo is part of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services.
