UF Health Shands names Ed Jimenez CEO

Gainesville-based University of Florida Health Shands has announced the appointment of Ed Jimenez as the system’s CEO, effective April 22.

Mr. Jimenez most recently served as UF Health Shands’ interim CEO. Prior to that, he served as the executive vice president and COO of the academic 5-hospital system.

Before joining UF Health in October 2010, Mr. Jimenez served as system vice president of Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Healthcare System. There, he oversaw hospital operations, business development, regional and physician partnerships and a 200-member physician group practice.
