Dirk Stanley, MD, will join the health system at the end of May. He previously was a practicing physician and CMIO at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass.

As CMIO, Dr. Stanley will oversee the health system’s Epic implementation and will lead the Epic Physician Steering Committee. Additionally, Dr. Stanley will continue practicing as a hospitalist for UConnJohnDempseyHospital, also in Farmington.

“The dual roles, as practicing physician and physician leader, will position Dirk to bring an important, informed physician perspective to this important EMR project,” said Andrew Agwunobi, MD, CEO and executive vice president for health affairs at UConn Health. “His partnership across the organization with leadership, physicians, nursing, support staff and IT will build and secure an infrastructure that will produce the bets EMR roll-out possible for our institution.”
