Texas Medical Center taps William McKeon to lead as CEO: 5 things to know

Houston-based Texas Medical Center named William F. McKeon president and CEO, effective immediately.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. McKeon most recently served as executive vice president as well as chief strategy and operating officer.

2. Before coming to Texas Medical Center, he served in leadership roles in numerous organizations including Stanford (Calif.) University Medical Center and Dublin, Ireland-based Medtronic.

3. He was also president and CEO of MicroPort Medical, based in Shanghai, China.

4. He has worked at Texas Medical Center since 2013.

5. Mr. McKeon succeeds Robert C. Robbins, MD, who is leaving to take on the role of president at University of Arizona in Tucson.
