Tenet names new CEO of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center: 3 things to know

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare has named Jeffrey Welch CEO of Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center, according to a South Florida Business Journal report.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Welch.

1. Mr. Welch replaces Larry Coomes, who became CEO of the hospital in 2012.

2. Mr. Welch was previously CEO of Coral Gables (Fla.) Hospital and COO of Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla. Both hospitals, like Palm Beach, are owned by Tenet.

3. Mr. Welch is described by Marsha Powers, CEO of Tenet’s Florida region, as “a strong leader” who’s “extensive knowledge of hospital operations will be very valuable in this new position,” according to the report.
