SwedishAmerican Hospital CEO Dr. Michael Born steps down

Michael J. Born, MD, president and CEO of Rockford, Ill.-based SwedishAmerican Hospital, has resigned.

Dr. Born is leaving to pursue other interests. He became the leader of the hospital in 2017, prior to which he was chief quality officer and CMO. He is an emergency medicine physician and holds an MBA from Indiana University South Bend, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Jennifer Maher, an executive consultant with UW Health in Madison, has been named interim president and CEO. SwedishAmerican is a division of UW Health. She previously served as CEO of Sutter Roseville (Calif.) Medical Center.
