Swedish Seattle names June Altaras CEO

June Altaras, RN, MN, has been appointed CEO of Swedish Seattle, which includes the First Hill and Cherry Hill hospital campuses, both in Seattle. Ms. Altaras will begin her new role Jan. 1, 2015.

Currently, Ms. Altaras serves as senior vice president of patient care operations for Swedish Health Services in Seattle, CNO of the Swedish Seattle system and COO for the First Hill and Cherry Hill campuses. She first joined Swedish in 1986 and is credited with helping develop the system’s award-winning Culture of Safety program.

Ms. Altaras will succeed Todd Strumwasser, MD, who was named senior vice president of Bay Area Operations for Dignity Health in San Francisco earlier this month.
