Mr. Purvis became CEO of the hospital in 2016. He has worked at Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health since 2006 when he joined as chief administrative officer.

He is moving back to Granite Bay, Calif. He told the Business Journal that living in Sonoma County had been difficult since wildfires in October 2017 destroyed his family’s home.

“Unfortunately, the wildfires really put a scar on us in many ways. But that being said, I want to make sure this hospital continues [on its] trajectory,” he said, according to the report.

Mr. Purvis will help select his successor.
