Stony Brook University Hospital appoints CNO: 3 things to know

Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital selected Julie Mirkin, DNP, RN, to serve as the chief nursing officer, effective Feb. 7.

Three things to know:

1. Dr. Mirkin most recently served as vice president for care coordination at New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian.

2. She has prior experience as senior vice president of patient care services and CNO at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y.

3. Dr. Mirkin holds a doctor of nursing practice degree from Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University and she graduated from the Wharton School of Business Nurse Executive Fellows Program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
