Stony Brook hospital taps chief medical officer

Greenport, N.Y.-based Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital named Alison Madden, MD, chief medical officer.

Dr. Madden will oversee medical staff education and training and clinical service improvements, and lead the launch of a geriatric inpatient psychiatric unit, according to a hospital news release. She stepped into her role July 21.

Dr. Madden will also open a gynecology practice this fall at the Stony Brook (N.Y.) Medicine Advanced Primary and Specialty Care facility.

Most recently, she served as chief medical officer and vice president of medical affairs at Nashua, N.H.-based St. Joseph Hospital.
