Steven M. Safyer, MD. CEO of Montefiore Medical Center (New York City). Dr. Safyer has been at Montefiore Medical Center since 1982, where he oversees the university hospitals and academic medical center for Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a full-service integrated system for patients throughout New York’s metropolitan region. He previously served as senior vice president and CMO for Montefiore, currently serves as chair of the board of governors for the Greater New York Hospital Association and was previous chair of the Bronx Regional Health Information Organization. Dr. Safyer is a frequent lecturer on a wide variety of subjects within healthcare and is a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, a member of the Healthcare Institute and a founding member of the Health Management Academy.
