The statement does not note the reason for Mr. Shelton’s departure. Linda Thorpe, CEO at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush, Colo., will step in as interim CEO. Ms. Thorpe has worked at Phoenix-based Banner Health for 25 years. Both Sterling Regional MedCenter and East Morgan County Hospital are a part of Banner Health.

Mr. Shelton’s LinkedIn profile shows that he has served as Sterling Regional MedCenter CEO since September 2015, prior to which he was CEO at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, Okla.

Sterling Regional MedCenter is a 25-bed acute care hospital that is also home to the David Walsh Cancer Center.
