St. Joseph Health CEO Deborah Proctor to retire

Deborah Proctor, president and CEO of Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health, will retire Dec. 31 after leading the system for 10 years.

Ms. Proctor is St. Joseph Health’s first woman CEO. She began her career as a critical nurse and an associate professor. She has served in various leadership roles at St. Joseph Hospital and the health system office.

In the 1990s, she worked for Hay Group as a consultant, and in 1999 she became chief administrative officer and senior vice president of organizational effectiveness of St. Louis-based Ascension Health.
