Claire Alminde, MSN, RN, was named president of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, according to a Tower Health statement shared with Becker’s on Oct. 2.
Ms. Alminde has served as interim president since January and will continue as chief nursing officer. She has spent nearly four decades at the hospital, the statement said.
“This hospital has been my second home for nearly 40 years, and I have had the privilege of spending my career alongside people who give everything they have to our patients and families,” Ms. Alminde said.
The appointment follows several years of leadership changes at St. Christopher’s, Tower Health President and CEO Michael Stern said in an email to employees shared with Becker’s. Ms. Alminde was named acting president in January after interim CEO Jodi Coombs, BSN, RN, exited.
Mr. Stern said Ms. Alminde will lead St. Christopher’s as it works with Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children’s Health and Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health and Temple Health on pediatric care and physician training.
St. Christopher’s is a 180-bed hospital owned in a 50-50 partnership by West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health and Philadelphia-based Drexel University.
