Sam Huenergardt to assume CEO post at Shawnee Mission Health: 4 notes

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System selected Sam Huenergardt to serve as CEO for Shawnee (Kan.) Mission Health as well as CEO of its Mid-America Region, effective May 28.

Adventist’s Mid-America Region includes Shawnee Mission Health and Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand, Wis.

Here are four notes:

1. Mr. Huenergardt currently serves as president and CEO of Parker (Colo.) Adventist Hospital.

2. His prior roles include serving as president/CEO of Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos as well as COO and CFO of Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Ga., both Adventist facilities.

3. He holds an MBA from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.

4. Mr. Huenergardt succeeds Ken Bacon, who is leaving to serve as CEO of Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health’s South Denver Group, a joint venture with Adventist Health System.
