Sacred Heart Health System's new CEO is Tom VanOsdol

St. Louis-based Ascension selected Tom VanOsdol to serve as CEO of Pensacola, Fla.-based Sacred Heart Health System, in addition to his current role as CEO of Jacksonville, Fla.-based St. Vincent's HealthCare.

The appointment is part of Ascension's plans to restructure oversight of its Florida-based facilities. The health system created a unified Florida Ministry Market, with seven hospitals and regional physician networks that Mr. VanOsdol will oversee.

Mr. VanOsdol assumed the top post at St. Vincent's HealthCare in July 2017. Prior to that, he served in leadership roles at numerous Ascension facilities, including Indianapolis-based St. Vincent Health.

Mr. VanOsdol is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a master's degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
