Russell County Hospital administrator to retire

Steve Givens, assistant vice president and administrator of Russell County Hospital in Lebanon, Va., plans to retire at the end of the year.

Mr. Givens has worked at Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health, Russell County Hospital’s parent, for nearly 20 years. He joined the organization as COO of Ballad’s Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va.

He became administrator of Russell County Hospital in 2012, and during his tenure, the hospital expanded its oncology, surgical and behavioral health services, opened a new rural health clinic and improved its financial outlook. The hospital was also named a top rural hospital by Leapfrog Group under his leadership.
