Dr. Stacey joined Fairview in November 2013. In a statement, system said his departure is due to a “combination of professional differences and personal reasons.”
In light of the news, Fairview’s board has created an “office of the CEO” to lead the system until the board finds Dr. Stacey’s replacement. Members of this office include Fairview Health’s board chair, former board chair and the dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School, according to the report.
A Fairview spokesperson told the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal that Dr. Stacey created a strategic plan for Fairview, with which the board largely agreed. There were, however, some disagreements over how to implement that plan.
