Mr. Jackson is currently CEO of Grove City (Pa.) Medical Center, a role he has held for 15 years. He previously worked at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the parent of UPMC Horizon and UPMC Jameson.
He succeeds Don Owrey, who was named COO of UPMC Susquehanna and president of UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center, both in Williamsport, Pa. Mr. Owrey will assume his new roles Sept. 1.
Mr. Jackson will serve as interim president of UPMC Horizon and UPMC Jameson through September.
