Robert Garrett. Co-CEO of Hackensack (N.J.) Meridian Health. In June, Hackensack and Meridian Health received legal approval to merge and create one of the largest health networks in New Jersey. Mr. Garrett and John K. Lloyd, formerly of Meridian Health, are serving as co-CEOs of Hackensack Meridian Health for two-and-a-half years until Mr. Lloyd transitions out upon his retirement. When Mr. Lloyd retires, Mr. Garrett will assume sole leadership of the combined network, which boasts nearly 28,000 employees and over 4,000 licensed beds. Prior to becoming CEO of Hackensack University Health Network in 2009, Mr. Garrett was president and CEO of Hackensack University Medical Center, the system’s flagship hospital, a role he continued to hold until April 2015. Also in 2015, Hackensack Health Network partnered with Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., to create a private school of medicine under Mr. Garrett’s leadership.
