Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego President and CEO Donald Kearns, MD, announced plans to retire.

1. Dr. Kearns will continue in his current role until a replacement is selected, after which he will serve in an advisory capacity.

2. He has worked at Rady Children’s since 1987, when he joined the medical staff as an otolaryngologist.

3. While serving as CEO, Dr. Kearns helped raise $120 million in philanthropic support to launch the Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine.

4. He also spearheaded the expansion of Rady Children’s into Riverside and Imperial counties.
