Previously, Ms. Van Zanten served as assistant administrator and vice president of operations at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash.
Ms. Van Zanten replaces Alan Olive, who left Providence in August for a leadership position at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare in Carson City, Nev.
