Prime Healthcare names regional chief nursing officer

Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare has promoted Rosenda “Rosey” M. Barrera, MSN, RN to a regional chief nursing officer role. 

On Aug. 14, Ms. Barrera became regional CNO of Prime Healthcare’s Illinois region, which includes nine hospitals, three ASCs and more than 70 medical group locations. Prime Healthcare operates 54 hospitals across 15 states. 

Ms. Barrera most recently served Prime as chief nursing officer and chief operating officer of St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill. She also served the 197-bed hospital as interim CEO “during a period of leadership transition,” according to a Prime news release shared with Becker’s

In the new role, Ms. Barrera will bring more than 25 years of clinical experience and 15 years of healthcare leadership experience, the release said.
