Porter Health Care System taps Sean Dardeau as CEO: 5 takeaways

Porter Health Care System in Valparaiso, Ind., named Sean Dardeau CEO, according to a report by The Times of Northwest Indiana.

Here are five takeaways:

1. In addition, Mr. Dardeau will serve as market CEO of Northwest Indiana for Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, Porter Health Care System's owner.

2. As market CEO, he will work closely with the CEO of La Porte (Ind.) Hospital and Starke Hospital in Knox, Ind.

3. Mr. Dardeau comes to Porter from Mary Black Health System in Spartanburg, S.C., where he served as market CEO.

4. He holds an MBA from Averett College in Danville, Va., and served on the board of the South Carolina Hospital Association.

5. At Porter, he succeeds Steve Lunn, who resigned to take on a new job.
