Mr. Coppock has 20-plus years of experience as a healthcare leader. He is currently serving a three-year term as Kentucky regent to the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mr. Coppock takes the reins of the hospital after a period of upheaval. The hospital entered bankruptcy late last year and received a $7 million takeover offer in a sealed-bid auction. But the highest bidder, Cura Healthcare, lost the deal after failing to make initial deposits.
First State Bank of the Southeast, the second-highest bidder, closed a $2.8 million deal to acquire the hospital Sept. 5. and named Mr. Coppock to his new role.
