Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health has appointed John Goodyear as regional COO and Tara Gardner, DNP, RN, as chief nursing officer for Hampden Medical Center in Enola, Pa., and Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, Pa.
Mr. Goodyear previously served as senior director of clinical operations and brings more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, according to a Dec. 15 health system news release. He played a key role in opening Hampden Medical Center and expanding its cancer services.
As regional COO and senior vice president, he will oversee daily operations at both hospitals and lead process improvement initiatives, working with senior leadership to support care delivery across the region.
Dr. Gardner most recently served as director of nursing for critical care at Holy Spirit Medical Center. She has 16 years of nursing leadership and patient care experience, including more than 13 years in acute care settings.
In her new role, she will lead nursing operations and support initiatives aimed at enhancing care quality and interdisciplinary collaboration.
