PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center COO Shannon Surbur to depart: 4 notes

Springfield, Ore.-based PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend COO Shannon Surbur is leaving her post, effective Feb. 3, 2017.

“After 10-plus fulfilling years of service to PeaceHealth and the communities we serve, I have made the bittersweet decision to consider the next chapter in my life,” said Ms. Surbur in a statement.

Here are four notes:

1. Ms. Surbur was named to the COO role in 2013, prior to which she was executive director of the medical center’s surgery institute, according to The Lund Report.

2. Ms. Surbur is leaving “to pursue new opportunities and spend valuable time with her family, including her newborn son,” according to a statement from Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth, the medical center’s parent.

3. During her time with PeaceHealth, she led the implementation of CareConnect and the LEAN Daily Management System for its Oregon network.

4. Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend also recently lost its CNO. Louella Freeman, RN, MSN, left in December 2016 to pursue other opportunities.
