Anna Monnett retires as chief nurse exec at Dayton VA Medical Center

Anna Monnett, RN, Dayton (Ohio) VA Medical Center’s chief nurse executive, retired, according to a Dayton Business Journal report. She has been with Dayton VA Medical Center since 1983, when she joined the facility as a staff nurse.

Ms. Monnett has served in a number of roles at the facility, including utilization manager, risk manager and chief of quality management. She serves on the Regional Nurse Professional Standards Board and is a member of the National SimLearn Steering Committee.

Penelope Gorsuch, DNP, is succeeding Ms. Monnett. Dr. Gorsuch, a colonel, currently serves in the U.S. Air Force as chief nurse. She also served as the dean of the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine at the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. She will assume her new role on Jan. 23, 2017, according to the report.
