OSF HealthCare regional CEO to retire: 5 takeaways

David Schertz, regional CEO with Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare, is retiring Aug. 31, according to a Rockford Register Star report.

Here are five takeaways:

1. As regional CEO, Mr. Schertz managed facilities in the Escanaba, Rockford, Ottawa, Mendota and Streator communities in Illinois.

2. He previously served as president and CEO of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Ill.

3. He joined OSF in 1995, prior to which he was president and CEO of Progressive Health Systems in Pekin, Ill.

4. Mr. Schertz serves on the board of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council.

5. Mark Nafziger, OSF’s CEO of ambulatory care, will serve as interim regional CEO, while the organization searches for a permanent replacement for Mr. Schertz.
