Peter Paige, MD, is joining Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., as its first chief clinical officer. He will also serve as executive vice president.
In the role, effective Oct. 15, Dr. Paige will guide the development of a system-wide approach to integrate and advance clinical excellence across the nine-hospital system, according to a Sept. 12 news release from the health system. He will oversee WMCHealth’s physician enterprise, which includes more than 1,000 providers, along with its graduate medical education programs. More than 500 residents and fellows train at the system each year.
Dr. Paige has spent two decades in leadership roles at major academic medical centers, most recently as chief clinical officer at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, where he oversaw significant improvements in patient outcomes and operational efficiency. He also spent more than 10 years at Miami-based Jackson Health System, where he served as
executive vice president, chief physician and chief clinical officer.
WMCHealth serves nearly 2.5 million residents across New York’s Hudson Valley region, operating 60 ambulatory care sites in addition to its hospital campuses.
