Jenn Schwartz began serving as president and CEO of Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare Sept. 1, succeeding Janice Nevin, MD, who retired after nearly 25 years with the health system.
Ms. Schwartz joined ChristianaCare in 2018 and most recently served as executive vice president and chief strategy officer. In that role, she helped guide the system’s enterprise strategy and growth, with a focus on value-based care, ambulatory expansion, clinical integration and partnerships.
ChristianaCare’s board selected Ms. Schwartz as Dr. Nevin’s successor in April.
Before joining ChristianaCare, Ms. Schwartz served as vice president of legal affairs and general counsel for Willingboro, N.J.-based Lourdes Health System and chief executive director of the LHS Health Network Accountable Care Organization. Earlier in her career, she was a partner at Fox Rothschild and GluckWalrath.
Dr. Nevin spent 12 years as ChristianaCare’s president and CEO. She joined the system in 2002 and held several leadership roles before becoming CEO in 2014.
ChristianaCare includes three hospitals — along with a growing network of microhospitals — a freestanding emergency department and urgent care centers, according to its website.
