Wilmington, Del.-based ChristianaCare plans to open its ChristianaCare Hospital, Aston Township, Pa., campus on June 2.

A second-floor outpatient health center is expected to open at the facility this fall to offer additional services, according to a May 29 news release shared with Becker’s.

The hospital and outpatient center represent an approximately $50.9 million investment, which is expected to create 75 jobs.

The neighborhood hospital is expected to provide care to approximately 15,000 patients annually, along with 24/7 emergency care, 10 beds for patients needing inpatient or observation care, inpatient services, imaging, laboratory services and virtual specialty consultations.

ChristianaCare Hospital, Aston, was developed through a joint venture with Emerson Holdings, a national neighborhood hospital developer.

The facility is ChristianaCare’s second neighborhood hospital. Its West Grove (Pa.) Campus opened in August 2025 and a third campus in Springfield, Pa., is anticipated to open in fall 2027.

“For too long, people in Delaware County have had to travel farther and wait longer for care,” Janice Nevin, MD, president and CEO of ChristianaCare, said in the release. “With the Aston Campus, we are bringing high-quality emergency and inpatient care closer to home — delivered with compassion, clinical excellence and a deep commitment to serving this community.”
